Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is a vital link for people to regain independence in meaningful daily activities that include work, leisure, and self-care. People of all ages with varying diagnoses benefit from this type of therapy. Treatments may include: therapeutic activities to regain range of motion, strength, coordination, custom splint fabrication, and instruction in the use of adaptive equipment to increase the ease for performing activities of daily living.
Cardiac Rehabilitation
RehabWorks is one of the few facilities in the region to provide both phase II and III Cardiac Rehabilitation programs. Phase II is designed for people who are recovering from heart problems such as heart attack, bypass surgery, angioplasty, or stable angina. It is a physician referred, medically supervised and telemetry-monitored program with the goal of returning participants to an active lifestyle by providing education and exercise guidelines. Phase III Cardiac Rehabilitation is for those who do not require the monitoring or supervision Phase II provides, but still need a structured cardiovascular fitness improvement program.
Employee Capacity Testing (Functional Capacity)
Worker’s Compensation is a concern for every employer. Thoroughly and accurately evaluating an injury with a Functional Capacity Evaluation is a vital part of the process. RehabWorks began offering these tests in 2006 to better serve the local business community and patients in the region. A comprehensive Functional Capacity Evaluation can pinpoint the employee’s ability to return to work, while identifying current capabilities and limitations that may be present following an injury. Having the employee return to work when they are functionally able, helps reduce the already exorbitant costs that can be associated with worker’s compensation claims. Our evaluation is a 6-8 hour process that completely simulates a full day’s work. In addition, our highly skilled therapists have completed the rigorous Roy Matheson training program. Our state of the art equipment includes the B.T.E. Primus Work Simulator, which can simulate hundreds of commonly preformed job tasks, including lifting a box, using a shovel, vacuuming, lateral bending, pulling a cart, climbing a ladder, swinging a hammer, raising a scaffold, using a crowbar, pulling a trigger, using a saw, turning a key, rotating a steering wheel, grasping, pinching, and more.
