The Activity department at the Rouse Home offers a diverse variety of approaches to enhance quality of life. We offer activities multiple times a day in the main recreation room as well as on the households. Many types of activities are offered here. Some of the favorite groups include trivia, cooking, music, specials, reminiscing, outdoors, intergenerational programs, movies, pet visits, manicures, spiritual, and of course bingo! At the Rouse, we offer special events through the year such as Heritage Day, the family picnic, the circus, fireworks, and the Christmas open house. Special entertainers come in regularly to provide music, dancing, and share other talents. We have regular outings using our handicap accessible bus. Some favorite trips are to restaurants, theater shows, the zoo, boat rides and picnics.
The activity department has many years of combined experience and skill. Weekly schedules are developed to cater to each residents social and recreation needs. Individual social contact visits are offered to those who request it or are unable to attend group activities. The activity staff works closely with the interdisciplinary team to provide plans of care that focus on what each person CAN do.
