    Adult Volunteer Application

    Child Volunteer Application (Under 18)
    (Children must be at least 11 years old to volunteer)

    Setup an orientation time (approx. 1 hr) :

    Volunteer Director

    Beauty Shop

    Transporting residents to and from beauty shop appointments and painting nails.
    Weekdays: 9:00 am - 11:00 am

  • Activities

    A wide range of possibilities. Transporting to and from the recreation room, helping with crafts, cooking, and games.
    Time - when activities are scheduled.
    Usual Times - 9:00 am - 11:00 am, 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

  • Friendly Visitors

    Visits with one or a number of residents weekly. Read to them, help write letters, take for walks around the building or outside, attend an activity with resident or take to snack bar. Simply a faithful friend to a resident. It is very important that these volunteers be consistent.
    Time - any time

  • Clerical Work

    Mailings, recording hours.
    Times - as needed

  • Daycare

    Assist with children's snack / lunch time, activities, playing outside, and cleaning.
    Time - 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm

  • Special Events

    Resident family picnics, open house, Heritage day, Kelly Miller circus, fireworks, music events.
    Time - when scheduled

  • Church/Vesper Services

    Gather residents for services and return to their rooms after.
    Time - 9:00 am (Church), 3:30 pm (Vespers)

  • Sponsor and Activity

    Some groups sponsor a party one time a year. This includes scheduling, planning and implementing a group activity for residents. The help comes from activities, the group purchases needed supplies.

  • Dogwood Room

    Easy food preparation i.e. sundaes, sandwiches, popcorn, salads etc.  Waiting on customers & running the cash register.

    Times include 1 day per week or 1 day per month. The snack bar is open from 1:00-4:00 daily. Youth volunteers must be 14 yrs old to work in the Dogwood room & must work with an adult volunteer.
  • Newpaper/Mail

    Newspaper - 8:00 am
    Mail - after 1:00 pm Mon. - Sat.

  • Transportation

    Helping with resident medical appointments. Sitting with residents in the office as the wait to see the Dr. Volunteers may ride the bus from the Rouse Home or meet the Resident at the Dr.’s office. Times- as needed
