The Friends of the Rouse Estate invites you to join our organization. This group was organized in 1988 as a volunteer auxiliary to the Rouse Home. In 1999, due to the expansion over recent years, our name and mission changed and expanded as well. Our group now acts as an advocate for the Rouse Home, the Rouse Suites and the Rouse Children's Center.

The Friends raise funds through yearly dues and fundraisers. This money is used to run the resident and guest snack bar, supplementing the Activity Department Budget, birdseed for resident feeders in the winter, flower boxes, flowers for in front of the building and in the courtyard. Funds also are used for annual holiday events, supporting "Rock America", a nine CD music collection for activities, Heritage Day, family picnics. The most recent special project was the completion of the paved walkway "Eagle's Run" between the Rouse Home and the Rouse Suites, where they made a large donation. Our membership is a diverse group of people, including family, friends, volunteers, and employees of the Estate. Members come from all surrounding communities and as far away as California. The type and degree of involvement is entirely up to the individual member. While one may be in a position to contribute financially rather than personally, another may be able to help put together a special event or visit regularly with a resident.

Please consider becoming a member of The Friends of the Rouse Estate. Please contact Becky Zerbe at the Rouse Home for more information on membership and membership benefits. The Friends offer a great way to make a difference in someone's Quality of Life.
